Instructions for Use
Initial Setup
1. Upon receiving your bags, remove them from the box, take off the rubber band, and unroll them.
2. Gently loosen the gussets to allow air to pass through the filter.
3. Store the bags for 7-10 days to ensure sterility before use.
Inoculation
1. Inject 5-10 cc of liquid culture at the bottom of the bag, ensuring it contacts the grain.
2. Prop the bags upright and loosen gussets for airflow.
3. Once 20-30% colonized, mix the bag thoroughly and flatten the cake.
4. After 100% colonization, add a rubber band around the substrate base to prevent side pins.
Fast Fruit Method
1. Mix all bag contents.
2. Add liquid culture to the bag.
3. Follow steps 2-4 from the Traditional Method.
Fruiting
- Bags will fruit directly inside. Maintain a room temperature of 70-75°F.
- Expect fruiting in about 4-5 weeks from inoculation, depending on conditions.
Important Tips
1. Optimal room temperature: 72°F with 50% humidity.
2. If pooling water occurs, cut a small slit below the filter and cover with micropore tape to enhance airflow and induce pinning.
3. Be patient and never open your bag unless it is 100% colonized if spawning to a tub.
4. Use within 30 days for best results. Store on a clean, cool shelf, not in boxes or sealed totes.
5. Spore syringes are not recommended for direct use on grains. Use liquid culture or agar for faster colonization.
